Donations: How can I assist a family?

Mrs. Lucci’s Resource Centre works with many families for a wide variety of reasons, and  one issue that we find to be a common experience for many families is food shortages and/or instability. The rising cost of groceries and other household necessities only serves to aggravate this ever present problem. In order to alleviate food shortages, Mrs. Lucci’s distributes gift cards purchased from our 2 local grocery stores to families in need. These gift cards are then used to purchase food and other necessary items, but cannot be used to buy tobacco products.

IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW WOULD LIKE TO DONATE GROCERY GIFT CARDS TO MRS. LUCCI’S, that we would then distribute to families in need, IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. You can call Torrie at 345-9901, or drop in to the resource centre from Monday to Friday, to make your donation.

Thank you for all that you do to support our community and the wonderful people who live here!!

Mrs. Lucci’s has been a part of the community of Lac du Bonnet since August 1998 providing residents in the community and surrounding area with a variety of programs and services. Mrs. Lucci’s Resource Center was developed through the identification of various unmet needs within the region. The Centre is home to the Resource Centre, a second hand clothing store and a large multipurpose room. A second store (Lucci’s Too) with household items available is located on 4th Street.

Mrs. Lucci’s strives to be a learning organization. The programs, opportunities and services offered through Mrs. Lucci’s will be client focused, flexible and will work in partnership to:

  • create greater social support networks among community members
  • improve the social status of community members
  • maximize the early childhood development of all children within the community
  • ensure children & youth have the best possible resources, supports and skills needed to succeed throughout life
  • improve personal health practices and coping skills among community members
  • provide early intervention for families and individuals in need
  • provide advocacy, make referrals and access resources for clients in need of support
  • enhance communication among service providers.

Programming targets the entire community with a focus on populations in need. All programs and supports are individually focused, holistic in nature and will look to the Determinants of Health to ensure all aspects of health are addressed.
